Attributed to Velázquez (Diego Rodríguez de Silva y Velázquez) | Don Gaspar de Guzmán (1587–1645), Count-Duke of Olivares | The Metropolitan Museum of Art

This equestrian portrait shows Don Gaspar de Guzmán, Count-Duke of Olivares, who was King Philip IV of Spain’s prime minister from 1621–43. A figure of enormous importance, he was portrayed by Velázquez on several occasions

This painting is painted by Velázquez of the pope. This was quite a few decades ago, nearing a century. This shows how amazing and powerful the pope is. Velázquez is an amazing artist who made this artwork flawlessly. The pope is shown on his throne and looks very amazing with the dull coloring from the portrait. #2B
