The Domus project is the construction in scale 1:50 of an imaginary medieval palace. It's made of clay, stones, slate, wood and other construction materials in the style of rich genoese buildings from the middle of XIV century. https://www.patreon.com/domusproject

Once decided that the assembly of the vaults of the basement will take place when the interiors are completed, the question is: Is it better to fix the arches and vaults piece by piece (separately) or to assemble the whole ceiling and then mount it in one go? Domus story 11 - Walls, Arches & Vaults

Once decided that the assembly of the vaults of the basement will take place when the interiors are completed, the question is: Is it better to fix the arches and vaults piece by piece (separately) or to assemble the whole ceiling and then mount it in one go?

Along with the vaults, arches are the elements that repeat the most in the construction of the basement, and together with them, they form a sort of self-supporting grid acting as a cover for the rooms below. In this video you can see the three types of round arches present in the cellar, the same in size but different in materials... After slate and marble, iron also enters the construction site in the form of an old rusty wire that I'll use to build railings, hinges, tie rods and other elements that we'll see later. Rust is absolutely natural, as the material has been collected around here and there. It's amazing the amount of things you can find on the street when you have your mind focused on a project.
