5th Grade Mexican cacti!
5th graders thought about the vocab word genre and considered the multiple genres that are used in art history. We created out own still lifes with real cacti and drew them making sure to think about the art element of space and overlapping! We utilized our blending skills and our talents with pattern and balance when designing our patterned pots.

This week in the studio has been all about tree pillows. I love needle felting trees! This week I made multiples of a fan favorite design, my Spring Tree pillow. Trees will start looking like this, with tiny green buds and a bird visit or two, just any time now! I also finished my new favorite, the Red Bird tree pillow. Zen Peacock Feather. Frame it and place it on that desk, side table, book shelf or hang it. Dimensions: 5”x7” Paper is 300gsm thick, acid free and archival. Ink I use is archival and acid-free as well. I use professional Water Colors for my artwork. I have signed and dated on the reverse side. Today Art I is beginning the process of creating a color wheel using colored pencils. Step 1: Everyone starts with a blank circle. Step 2: everyone selected another circle that has images attached to it. Step 3: Everyone creates a line drawing on the blank circle (shown in step 1) of the images that are on the circle selected in step 2. Everyone shades the line drawing with colored pencils so that it looks like a color wheel.
