The town of COMILLAS has some of the most important Art Nouveau buildings in Cantabria, which include Sobrellano Palace Chapel and the Pantheon, the Pontifical University and, of course, the brilliant El Capricho by the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi.
Casa Milà, commonly known as La Pedrera is the largest civil building designed by Antoni Gaudí. The apartment block was constructed between 1906 and It was Gaudí's last work before devoting himself to the construction of the Sagrada Família.
The Palau Güell, or Guell Palace, located in Nou de la Rambla in Barcelona, UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the first building in which the architect Antoni Gaudí i Cornet (Reus 1852-Barcelona, 1926), shows his talent. Built between 1886 and 1889, the first projects date back to 1886 and correspond to the assignment of his great patron, Eusebi Güell (1846-1918), a famous exponent of the Catalan bourgeoisie.
