Love books by color and using law textbooks to anchor in our house. Also, we are totally that couple that would create bookshelves in some nook of our house like this. Great idea for making the most of your space, over the door shelves.

Do you ever open your book at like 9 and decide youll read for a few minutes then all of a sudden its 2 am and your eyes are burning like you used hot sauce as eye drops and then you think youre only a 100 pages or so from the end so sleep is for the weak

I like the loft idea-- but maybe give it space to the outside.  Stick a cool looking tower up there, right out the roof of the house.  I'm pretty sure any structural engineer would find hundreds of problems with this, but I like the idea :)
