24th April 1945: Willi Reschke's Ta 152H (JG 301 bands on the rear fuselage) downs a Yak-9 near Berlin, one of two that he shot down on the day. Reschke flew about 70 missions during his career in which he recorded 27 victories, all over the Western Front, including 20 four-engine bombers. He was shot down 8 times, bailing out five times, and was wounded once. Reschke died in July 2017 at the age of 95.
