11 in 'pocket battleship' Lutzow, July 1943. First of the three 'panzerschiffe', she was built without the prominent control tower of her two sisters. By this time she and surviving sister Admiral Scheer (Graf Spee had been lost in 1939) had been redesignated as heavy cruisers. She survived until April 1945, when terminally damaged by RAF bombing.
