These arches made from pebbles are examples of short-lived art. Judging from the smoothly eroded surfaces of the rocks, they were probably found close by the site of this work. Since the setting is presumably located in the wilderness, the artist chose materials that would blend in with nature. Evidently, impermanence did not receive much consideration, otherwise measures would have been taken to support the structure.
