Explore Jet Engine, Bloodhound, and more!

The Bloodhound SSC is a supersonic car currently being engineered to go OVER 1000 mph!

The Bloodhound Super-Sonic Car is in development, with an aim of challenging the land-speed record. This week the designers put the near-complete vehicle on display in London.

Richard Noble and Andy Green are at it again. Project Bloodhound is their next attempt at the land speed record. Having been the first to go supersonic they want to be the first to take a car past 1,000 mph Good luck guys, my name's on the fin

The next world land speed record holder? WR holders since 1983, Britons Richard Noble and Andy Green plan “Bloodhound SSC” for a new record. A Eurojet EJ200 jet engine will accelerate to 300 mph, a hybrid rocket will boost speed to 1,000 mph, then a Jaguar Formula 1 engine will be auxiliary power and drive the rocket's oxidiser pump. The engines produce >135,000 hp (6 times the combined power of a grid of 22 Formula One cars). Bloodhound SSC will be tested on Hakskeen Pan, South Africa in…

The British engineering project named Bloodhound SSC will be taking on the land speed record, currently held by Andy Green in Thrust SSC.

BLOODHOUND SSC (supersonic car) is a car created by the international education initiative BLOODHOUND Project to attempt a 1,000 mph world land speed record. The team aim to break the record with the pencil-shaped car, powered by a jet engine & a rocket designed to reach 1,000 mph together with a Cosworth CA2010 Formula 1 V8 petrol engine auxiliary power unit. It is being developed & built with the intention of breaking the land speed record by 33%, the largest ever margin.

Bloodhound SSC is a jet and rocket powered car designed to go at mph (just over kph). It weighs over 7 tonnes and the engines produce more than horsepower - more than 6 times the power of all the Formula 1 cars on a starting grid put together.
