This copy of L'Arbre des batailles was probably made for the famous bibliophile, John, Duke of Berry. It is unclear in what circumstances the manuscript arrived to England. In the early 16th century it belonged to a certain John Gamston and subsequently to Henry Parker, 10th baron Morley. The manuscript entered the Lumley library through the collector’s assistant and brother-in-law Hunphrey Lloyd and bears his ex-libris: 'Sum Humfredi Lloyde' (f. 2) The diagram called 'arbre de dueil'…
