Gettysburg nurses, at Camp Letterman, the Union Hospital. So grateful for these images. The few we have must represent the hundreds of women who, including the civilians of Gettysburg who served there.

Women were not allowed to help with the Civil War unless they were nurses. Four hundred women served in the war. Some historical records show that over sixty women were wounded or killed.
