Stafford Castle was originally built by Robert de Stafford (1039 - 1100). The de Stafford line continued to hold Stafford Castle and many members of my family were born and died here. It left my direct family line upon his death of Humphrey de Stafford, 1st Duke of Buckingham, 6th Earl of Stafford in 1460. My family lineage goes with his daughter Lady Anne de Stafford (1446 - 1472) when she married into the de Berkeley noble family.
