Sir John Lavery, Mrs. [Walter] Rosen's Bedroom,1926. The Rosen's Manhattan townhouse at 35 W 45th Street was located just down the block from John D. Rockefeller's house, but while his house is long gone--sort of: these days, its Moorish Smoking Room is at the Brooklyn Museum--the Rosen's house is still there, and landmarked, too. But if this room still exists, it's probably lost its richly-colored Venetian decor.  --MV.
