This is an easy way for students, including ELLs, to organize their writing, providing them with a summary before turning it into paragraph form. To start, students draw a box in the middle of thier paper. Then they draw lines to split the paper into four equal boxes. A topic sentence goes in the middle of the paper, with supporting ideas or sentences in the outside boxes. You can also do three supporting details and a closing sentence. Introduced by Teal Carter in ED 692.
