Fortune's Blight (The Shattered Kingdoms) by Evie Manieri

Fortune's Blight Shattered Kingdoms The second book in a compelling epic fantasy series takes place after the Shadari revolution,.

This book employs a compelling narrative style; the chapters alternate between the POVs of the two protagonists, and each starts with a first person memoir-style section that helps to fill in the backstory before the rest of the chapter moves forward the primary plot. The descriptions of certain areas of New York, particularly Coney Island, are beautifully drawn, and the story's time period of the early 1900s is one I find fascinating.

The Museum of Extraordinary Things. - Takes place in 1911 inear Coney Island. Some events based on actual history. A young girl lives in a museum of human oddities with a cruel father.
