Gensui-to, a sword made for a Marshal-admiral, the highest rank in the prewar Imperial Japanese Navy, belonging to Fleet Admiral Prince Fushimi Hiroyasu, October 16, 1875 – 16 August 1946, a scion of the Japanese imperial family, a career naval officer who served as chief of staff of the Imperial Japanese Navy from 1932 to 1941, blade by Gassan Sadakatsu.

時期<南北朝時代>  備前国長船(岡山県長船)住の刀工幸光は、南北朝時代から戦国時代までに7・8名存在するが、これは裏銘の年紀から最も古い南北朝期の刀工であることがわかる。  鎬造に庵棟で、元幅と先幅に差があり、刃文は、大きな互の目が賑やかな丁子乱れとなる。長大で堂々とした、時代を表現する優秀な作品である。  応永18年(1411)根城南部10代光経が、戦勝の報告と祈願への返礼のために甲冑とともに櫛引八幡宮へ奉納したものと伝えられ、資料的にも、美術的にも貴重である。

Tachi Koshirae is an acommplish artisan. This Katana is an example of well executed applications of silver dragons in the Saya, Tsuba and Tsuka. The gold leaf decorations in the rest of the Katana makes it a beautiful wor of art.
