The Canon 7 1961 - was the first camera of the and last generation rangefinder system camera from Canon. These were the last Canons compatible with the Leica lens mount. It was the first Canon with a built-in meter.
Nikon FE2. I've had a few of the FEs and FE2s. Well made, solid cameras. Drop in the K3 focusing screen from the FM3a, and have a nice, bright viewfinder. Never much cared for the match-needle metering display, though. I shoot a lot of low- and available light and appreciate the led displays.
Selecting the all-time best of anything is always a daunting task, and that’s especially true of cameras, which have undergone a seismic paradigm shift in moving from film to digital. It’s also a great way to start arguments.
