CASTLES OF SPAIN - Castillo de Peracense (Aragon). El   emplazamiento del castillo estuvo ocupado a finales de la Edad de   Bronce, posteriormente, bajo época de dominación musulmana. Con   la expansión del Reino de Aragón al sur del Ebro hacia el   Mediterráneo, el territorio de Peracense fue conquistado hacia 1150.   Pero es en la Baja Edad Media cuando su importancia estratégica se   acrecienta por su posición limítrofe entre los reinos de Castilla y   Aragón.

The Castle of the La Mota is a medieval fortress, located in the town of Medina del Campo, Initial fortification of the village, repopulated after Moorish depredations, led to the creation of a fortress on the site, starting in 1080. In 1354, Henry of Trastamara is known to have taken the fortress by force. In 1390 King John I of Castile granted the town to his son, the infante Ferdinand of Antequera, future king of Aragon.

CASTLES OF SPAIN - Castillo de Biar (Alicante), de origen musulman (almohade) se levanta sobre restos de una fortificación de época romana . En 1244, Jaime I de Aragón toma Biar que sería desde entonces lugar fronterizo entre Aragón, Castilla y el reino musulman de Murcia, lo que hizo que el castillo fuese fortificado repetidas veces y estuviera en liza durante todo el periodo de la reconquista española. CASTLES OF SPAIN - Olmillos de Sasamón Castle, Burgos. Built in 1440 by don Pedro de Cartagena, and was conceived as a fortified palace. It also belonged to the Cartagenas in the 15th and 16th centuries, to the Viscounts of Valoria in the 17th and 18th centuries and to the Dukes of Gor in the 19th century.The castle has a double enclousre. The outer one nearly disappeared and the inner one is defended by cyclindrical towers. Currently the castle is in private hands and it is used as a hotel.
