Before 24 Pz. Div. launched its attack on Voronezh, July, 1942, an armoured platoon of 2./Krad.Btl.4, escorted by a few Panzers, reconnoiter over the Don bridge into southern part of the city. Patrol leader was Lt.Hubertus Schulz, (he is the tall officer seen walking between vehicles "22 and "27). After battling two T-34s, he reached the train station, pulled bCk and reported that isolated enemy groups were defending the city.

With the final capitulation of Germany to the Allies, German soldiers who have bore arms for over five years against almost all of Europe and the U.S., surrender their Mauser 98k rifles to their American forces near Landeck, Austria. They seem quite pleased to have survived, and that it is all over. Hand grenades and other small arms and equipment can be seen piled up beyond the rifles.
