1880s: The Wyandotte Savings Bank building, 3005 Biddle Ave., constructed in 1860 as offices for the Eureka Iron and Steel Works. In 1871, Steel Works Manager and first mayor of Wyandotte, John Van Alstyne, founded the WSB in the same building. The third floor of the building, called "Bank Hall," housed many social events. Today, it houses Wyandotte Municipal Services. See this and other archival images superimposed onto modern street views at www.whatwasthere.com and search "Wyandotte, MI."
