A Brit-pop strumpet with a heart of glass, Pulp's Jarvis Cocker minced through 'Different Class' as a star in the classic Bowie mold.

Pulp: I was blessed with the opportunity to catch them at The Warfield (San Francisco, CA) last Tuesday. Jarvis Cocker and company were great showmen.

No 498: The Stone Roses, 'The Stone Roses': The Stone Roses seem to have whizzed past me in the wake of the 80s jumping to the 90s - what a jem of an album that is definitive of the Nineties Brit Pop era. (4 stars)

Stone Roses: As with most Stone Roses releases, the cover displays a work by John Squire. It is a Jackson Pollock-influenced piece titled "Bye Bye Badman," which makes reference to the May 1968 riots in Paris.
