Quirky Bird brooch/pin, needle felted, made to order
This is my collection of Quirky bird brooches, designed and needle felted by me. Each one that I make is different,as the images show and so feel free to say 'I like the pale pink one' for example when you order. Other than that, choose a colour and I will surprise you! Perhaps you might like an owl brooch...again please tell me! I am not making bird portraits...these are stylised, similar to those in the pictures. Each brooch comes with a silver or bronze coloured pin and so is easy to fasten to a winter coat or bag...you could even put one in a little frame!

a cheesy felting tool
cheese grater I just have to tote the wonders of my handy-dandy cheese grater! I recommend this trick all the time to my felting classes, but I highly recommend it now! Yesterday I was felting in my Wonder Washer an all-cream sheep for a customer, and I wasn't liking how it was felting. I had felted it, stuffed it with fiberfill and as it dried the stitch definition returned. I knew this yarn was capable of felting better (by past experience). Normally I would pull out the stuffing and throw the piece back into the wash for another cycle or two, but I was concerned about the sheep's leg holes felting shut making it difficult to insert the leg wires afterwards. back and forth against the grates In a panic, I pulled out my ordinary cheese grater, hoping for a miracle. I wet the sheep with soap and water and rubbed the stuffed body vigorously back and forth against the smallest grates (bumpy-side up), and it felted beautifully! No stitch definition what so ever! I was relieved and so pleased. Using the cheese grater gave me precise control over particular areas as well as broader ones as well. Great for those items that just need a little extra felting help. I encourage you to try it, if you haven't already. You'll love the results! Happy knitting!

Gnome with Lantern Nutshell Ornament - Needle Felted Gnome on Lantern Walk in a Walnut Shell Ornament / Martinmas Ornament
~This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine~
A tiny gnome carrying a lantern on a starry night...carefully made using wool which I have dyed, sculpted, and contained in a natural walnut shell.
Measures approximately 1.5 inches tall, 1.25 inches across, and will arrive carefully packaged in a gift box.
A tiny treasure!
This listing is for one felted nutshell ornament. As each one is individually sculpted, please allow up to 3 days for me to make yours and send on its way to you. Yours may vary ever so slightly from those pictured here. (No two nuts are alike, but I do my best to use shells of the same proportions.)
These are my take on the traditional walnut ornament. I have really been enjoying designing and creating these tiny fiber sculptures.
It's kind of 'nuts' how much work goes into making something so small...
I carefully saw walnuts in half, lightly sand, and clear-coat them for a slightly glossy look.
A tiny hole is drilled in, to hang them by their hemp cord loop.
Then I have fun sculpting inside of them.
