The delightful "Cascada Pantano Elche" waterfalls, its lake & nature trails are 25 minutes drive from the Hondon Valley. [ GMap: https://goo.gl/maps/XNJDXUqZJ8z2DcXt6 ]. There are car parks, however to actually get to the Waterfalls it is a 20-minute walk, but a lovely steady walk, which needs good footwear. There are no catering facilities so take some food & drink as there are plenty of picnic tables. You can also climb up the steps to see the Rio Vinalopó which is the source of the river.
