Xiuzhen tu: Diagram of Cultivating Perfection. Translated by Catherine Despeux. Taoïsme et corps humain. Probably dating from the early 19th century, this is a diagram (tu) depicting the Daoist body in terms of alchemical and cosmological principles. It contains inscriptions in textual form, symbols of paradises, alchemical symbolism and practice descriptions, lunar phases, names of the twenty-eight constellations, and elements relating to thunder rites (leifa).
