The snow wells, located high up in the middle of the Sierra Espuña mountains, were built in the 16th century to preserve food and medicine, cool drinks and even make ice cream. Today, you can visit the site to see the ruins, and even go inside a couple of the wells which have been restored. The best place to park the car is at Mirador del Collado Mangueta, and take the signposted path (about a 15 minute walk) to the wells. #sierraespuña #murcia #sight #history #wells #visit
