Bing Crosby - Brother, Can You Spare A Dime? (1932)
Brother, Can You Spare A Dime? has a theme of despair because they went from rich to poor almost over night. I say this because in the song it says "They used to tell me I was building a dream With peace and glory ahead Why should I be standing in line Just waiting for bread?" which shows us that he feels that he has done a lot for America and shouldn't be so poor or treated so bad. This song is pretty similar because they both show the constant struggle during the Great Depression.
