First Scottish “cursing stone” found on Isle of Canna. A bullaun has been found on the Isle of Canna making it the first known stone found in Scotland. Stones like this are found in Ireland, but this is the first to be discovered in Scotland dating to 800ad. They date from the early Christian period but have continued to be used by pilgrims up to modern times.
