Nas trincheiras portuguesas: em descanso

A vida nas trincheiras. Aspecto do quotidiano.

The arrival of hot soup at a Portuguese trench, Neuve-Chapelle sector, 25th July, 1917. As one of the soldier (wearing an informal vest) digs around the liquid looking for something edible, others wait patiently. The transport of warm food to the front was not a daily affair, and it also not without risk: Snipers targeted these men knowing that the lack of a hot meal was detrimental to soldier’s moral. Artillery barrages and other dangers were ever present during the journey to the front… World War One, First World, Ww1 History, Bad Picture, Wwi, Portuguese, Trench, Portugal, Pictures
