El Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya (ICGC), en colaboración con el Departamento de Geología de la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), ha desarrollado la herramienta 3DHIP-Calculator, una aplicación que permite evaluar los recursos geotérmicos profundos de un territorio a partir de modelos geológicos y térmicos en 3D. Se trata, además, de la primera herramienta gratuita y de código abierto de sus características.
